Your Health

The health service for children looked after is run by people from Health and Social Services.

We aim to make sure your health is checked, that you have regular visits to the dentist, that you are immunised and if you need any help, you are put in touch with the health services you need.

We want to help you enjoy the same standard of health care everyone else your age has.

Children and Young People who are healthy and happy achieve more in their lives

We can also provide specialist support and advice for your carers.

What happens to the information you give us?

It is not possible to provide the health care you need without keeping information about you.

This includes details of your medical history.

The Data Protection Act requires us to keep information about you safe and secure.

It also sets out:

• who we can share the information with
• your rights to see the information we have about you
• checks that we are looking after it correctly
