We are recruiting in your area for a part-time Regional Development Coordinator (3 days per month, home-based). Are you between 13-19 years old?????? Then Young Inspector's programme for Cambridgeshire want people like YOU to get involved in gaining training qualifications and be PAID to carry our inspections. The job is going until March 2011- So what are you waiting for !

Amelia Bird the Artistic Director of Gomito Productions runs weekly workshops at the Junction in Cambridge - they happen:
- Mondays 19:15-20:45 16-19 year olds
- Tuesdays 17:15-18:15 13-15 year olds
- at The Junction, Clifton Way, Cambridge, CB1 7GX (J3 studio, which is the bit that looks like a shed).

Horse Riding at Linton - we got an email saying an organisation called the "Bas Breakwell Charitable Trust (reg. charity no. 1124755), based in Linton offers horse riding opportunities to young people who are disadvantaged with the aim of improving confidence etc. They currently work with the Red Balloon Learner Centre, the Darwin Centre at Fulbourn and the Granta School. They have the funds to expand and offer more young people an opportunity to get involved."

SO YOU WANT TO BE FAMOUS? ITV Fixers WILL HELP YOU - Over 1000 young people took their chance on 2009 to get a three minute slot on the ITV 6.00 pm news. You can speak out about anything you feel passionately about and want to change... on your own or with others.
Have a look on their website at the things other young people have done - it might spark some ideas www.itvfixers.com - the only criteria is that it must be "something useful that helps someone else"... so sign up and get your slot and make 2010 the year that YOU get on the telly.

We are awaiting confirmation from the banks re the new working arrangements and this has delayed the new cards being distributed and loaded. We will let you know the new distribution and load date, as soon as possible.
In the meantime and as a reminder about the current holders and re-launch see below.
Current G2G holders
All accounts for the original scheme are closed. No money will be carried forward to G2G cardholders who will be part of the re-launch.
G2G cardholders that are part of the re-launch can use the same card and pin.
Any card or pin lost for G2G cardholders carrying on will still receive a replacement.
G2G re-launch
Young people 13-16 in receipt of free school meals and those who are Looked After will be contacted soon.
There are three groups of G2G card holders, all of whom will receive further information. The first group are G2G cardholders who will remain eligible for the G2G who will be staying on the scheme. The second group is the G2G cardholders whose eligibility expires and are therefore not staying on the scheme. The third group are the new G2G cardholders who will be notified, as will their parents.
The new monthly payments will be £15
Providers of positive activities will be listed on http://www.purplepigeon.net/g2gcard. The main change to use is that the cinema has been excluded.
Cards lost will be re-issued at a cost to the cardholders account £3.50.

"You Know You" Young Leaders project Be street wise be SEX wise
The Terence Higgins Young Leaders Project are looking for 12 young people (13-19 years old) to be on the Eastern regional board for the East of England.
They will award grants to other young people to run their own sex and relationships education projects with their peers.
The board members will be trained on sex and relationships as well as project management, leadership and decision making skills, and will achieve an Open College Network Accreditation for their involvement. Interested?

LSCB STILL need a Someone who is interested in Computers. The Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Local Safeguarding Children Board are working on an e-safety strategy which aims to:
- help children and young people to be safe from abuse on line
- be safe when using other forms of ICT (Information & Communications Technology)
- raise public awareness (particularly with parents & carers)
- develop the skills of professionals in recognising and dealing with e-safety incidents
SO .... If you know about computers and things like this and, more importantly, how to deliver messages to people your age, about how to report abuse, stay safe, etc Josie wants to hear from you. Over the next year or two, Josie needs two or three young people from Cambridgeshire to work regularly with the E safety officer, and with a CEOP worker to make the best strategy we can. Young People Weight and Health - There's a new multimedia health website www.YouthHealthTalk.org - This site is hoping to interview young people
aged 16-20 about a range of issues to do with weight and health,
including: body image, size & shape, exercising, struggling with weight,
food & eating, dieting, being told you’re overweight, and losing &
gaining weight. They want to hear about your

Community Cash Awards are grants of up to £5,000 available to help young people who want to improve their local area. This could be your chance to start sorting out those transport issues in your rural area that stop you getting out and about? The grant is targeted at young people in the most disadvantaged areas and provides the opportunity for young people to set up projects to raise awareness of issues in their local area. Anyone who is aged 14-16 and in school, but struggling, or anyone aged 14 - 30, unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week. Grants of between £1000 - £5000. 'Kids Aloud' is new in Cambridgeshire. Children aged 5 to 11 are having their say through ‘Kids Aloud’ groups. The groups are based in South Cambs, East Cambs, Fenland and Hunts. The aim of 'Kids Aloud' is to make sure that every single child in Cambridgeshire has the opportunity to have their voice heard. The five best entries get a £20 Argos Voucher.
