When you're in care you should have a Social Worker. Your Social Worker should come and visit you within the first 5 days of you moving in, and at least every 6 weeks during the first year you live with your carers.

After the first year, we hope you will be more settled, and not need to see your social worker as often, so they should come at least every 3 months. BUT if you want to see your Social Worker just call them and ask them to come round.

When your Social Worker comes to visit you they should see you on your own, and make sure that you are happy and settled.

They should ask you about how often you see your family and friends, how things are going at school and at home and complete your care plan with you.

They should give you a LAC PACK when you first come into care. These were designed by young people and have all the information you need about being in care. Caz also puts in some FREEBIES so make sure you get yours!!
